Barney Field
Exec. Dir./Founder,
El Paso for Jesus

Barney Field is a veteran city reacher who founded El Paso for Jesus in 1992.  You can view and/or download his guide to city reaching free at www.epfj.org.  The title is Your City for Jesus 3 Easy Steps.  The city reaching movement in El Paso. Texas has enjoyed success through united prayer, people and projects.

Barney, a graduate of Dickinson College where he was the co-captain of the varsity football team and a member of the senior men’s honorary society, was a businessman for 25 years before the Lord called him to be fulltime city reacher.  Among other things, Barney co-ordinates a monthly working luncheon for pastors.  This powerful group has met for about 125 months. He conducts a nationwide veteran city reachers conference call each month for Mission America called, “What’s working?”

The Holy Spirit has inspired some creative community outreaches in El Paso that have turned darkness into light.  For example, during 1997:Year of the Bible 5 Minutes a Day everyone in El Paso was challenged to invest 5 minutes a day to read the entire New Testament.  It worked!  It’s estimated that 100,000 people participated.

El Paso has been transformed from one of the most dangerous, gang-infested cities in the nation to the second safest city with populations of 500,000 or more.  Thank-you, Jesus!
